DURHAM, N.C., March 15, 2016 — Premier Research announces the appointment of Lisa Pitt as Vice President of Global Regulatory Affairs. Joining Premier Research from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, where she was a senior regulatory project manager, Dr. Pitt provides strategic guidance and oversees the company’s regulatory affairs service offerings in rare diseases and across its broad range of therapeutic focus areas.
Prior to her work with the FDA, Dr. Pitt spent more than two decades in the pharmaceutical and contract research industries, working extensively in small-molecule and biologic pharmaceutical product development from early phase through registration and post-marketing. She oversaw regulatory activity for global product development teams at MedImmune as the company’s Director of Regulatory Affairs and served as Director and Principal Regulatory Affairs Consultant at a leading contract research organization. Dr. Pitt also held regulatory positions at Novartis Pharmaceuticals.
She holds a doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, a Master of Science and Jurisprudence from Seton Hall Law School, and a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from the University of Delaware. She is a frequent guest lecturer and speaker on regulatory subjects and previously served as an adjunct pharmacy professor at Rutgers University and Notre Dame of Maryland University.
“This is an active time for novel biopharmaceutical product development, with so much opportunity to improve patients’ lives,” Dr. Pitt said. “An effective regulatory strategy has a huge influence on our ability to help customers take products from benchtop to bedside.”
